Episode notes:
Our EP’s specialising in Neurological conditions, Jacqui and Mackenzie, sit down to discuss the physiology behind exercise and neuroplasticity, and how we can manipulate training protocols to enhance rehabilitation outcomes and motor performance for clients living with neurological conditions.
They review recent evidence for optimising exercise volume and intensity to maximise changes in circulating neurochemicals contributing to neural health and function. In particular, they discuss brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), a key protein contributing to neural development and improved motor performance in individuals with neurological conditions.
